Hi guys! I came across this card while randomly searching for information regarding the playmat slowpoke haha… just curious but does anyone know where this is from? interesting how the card credited carddass rather than the original artist (guessing ken sugimori?) for this!

Fan made…

I’ve seen these on some Japanese players blogs before, i think the players / some small tcg shops printed a bunch of their own custom cards a long time ago; for there little shop TCG playing. Just something fun for customers / players. Custom cards have been around for a long time, so yeah… i think it’s fake sorry.

So fuckin’ fake…

  1. Venusaur is black(ed)

  2. Artwork exceeds outside the frame.

  3. Carddass is not an illustrator

  4. Ken Sugimori is the illustrator of that artwork

  5. That’s a regular sized screw down case(ultra pro)

  6. The position of No.2 Trainer would’ve been under the gold TRAINER plaque. Plus it wouldn’t say “for”.

  7. The font is too bold.

It looks pretty cool though.

“Illus. carddass”

The art was taken from the Bandai Carddass Secret card. The artwork was licensed to Bandai… they are certainly not the illustrator. It was Sugimori’s work.

The name Carddass refers to a type of card distributed by vending machines. It has no relation to any illustrator at all.
