Any stamp collector's?

I am doing this for a friend and I have no idea where to start, so I would take a stab here. I am not sure where to go to get values of these stamps online then just googling it. Maybe an appraisal? This is only a small part of what he has:

To answer the question in your title: I used to collect in the past. I have more than 20,000 different stamps lying somewhere in the attic from three generations; my grandma collected them in her youth, her son and daughter (my uncle and mom) collected them in their youth, and I collected them in my youth.

But as for the value of stamps I can honestly say nothing. I’m sure some of the stamps I have might be worth something as well, considering the stamps are from all over the world and from the years ~1850 or so through present, but how to value them I don’t know.

I only know about the value of one stamp I once heard a story about, of which only a single copy remains. There used to be two, but the person who owned one of the two stamps bought the other, and then ripped it apart to make his single stamp even more unique and valuable… I certainly hope no one is going to buy all Pokémon Illustrator cards, and then burning them all except one, rofl… I doubt that would increase the value of that single Pokémon Illustrator to above that of all there are now combined.

I’m sure there are loads of post stamp communities out there just like with our E4 forum for Pokémon who could help determine the values.

I figured so, thanks for the input. My buddy is in the UK and w/ U.S. stamps its pretty hard to get a good guesstimate. I will keep looking around

I went through my old stamp collection a couple years ago and was able to price pretty much all of them by using google and eBay. It wasn’t that hard. Granted, mine were mostly English. One highlight was, it turned out I had a couple from the 1860s or 1870s.

Here’s one site I used that had foreign too:
findyourstampsvalue.com
I think for 20.00 you will get all the info you need for a solid month.
