Amiami website: is it good?

Hi!

So the other day I was reading some threads and I read in one of them about a Japanese website called amiami.

I’ve only bought once outside ebay and I got scammed (although it was Facebook… it could be predictable xD).

Therefore, when I think about buying in a website like amiami I’m a little scared.

Does any of you buy there? Was it a good or a bad experience? Any tip?

I’m just looking for ways to save a bit of money cause sometimes ebay seems a bit expensive, specially in relation to Japanese products when you’re in Europe

Thanks!
Alicia

AmiAmi is used by quite a few people here, 100% reputable.

Such great news! Thank you both! ^^

Love them. But importtaxes kill

I only make very large purchases from them, because the shipping is quite expensive.

I just bought 8 boxes of SM3
and 2 cases (5 decks) of Pikachu mimikyu decks

shipping was like $100 to California …

BUT I don’t know anywhere else that the base price is 20% off MSRP for Japanese products…

Amiami is a great wholesale website to get it cheaper than paying full price. Like others said, shipping is costly, but I think it is worth it to have the cards in the matter of days after release. Sometimes even at release depending on how quick you purchase them etc.

For Europe prices are very good even with the shipping. Only one Japanese booster box can cost me around 90 euros on ebay, and I think that in that website it costs 50 with shipping included ^^

If you say that’s a good site, I’m definitely gonna buy from them and try

Ive used amiami several times  Im in the UK, ive only had import charges once…that was for sleeves, FEW BOXY and 20th anniversary box. They are decent and reasonable price  My Ash Pikachu GX boxes came the other week

Airmail shipping is expensive. It’s 150 yen for the first 50g and 90 yen each additional 50g for small packet. Yours is going to be parcel post I am guessing, but just showing how much it really costs for a little bit of additional weight.

SAL is a lot cheaper and pretty sure they offer that. Wow, not so much cheaper when the weight really gets up there and you use Parcel Post. I usually only use small packet, which your order it too large for.

The reality is you won’t find a cheaper way to ship unless you find someone actually willing to offer up the shipping discount as a savings.

Actually, on the Pikachu boxes you could probably save a lot of you had someone break them down and just ship the decks and coins if you planned on opening them. Lots of weight just on packaging and the booklet and stuff. Decided to weigh the extra’s 220g out of 318g was packaging/booklet. You could almost drop 2kg from your order after repacking that stuff.

Looking at your order the shipping seems to be right on.

Your weight is something like this before boxes and packing paper.

318x10= 3180g (actual weight, weighed one of my boxes)
270x8= 2160g (from the picture it looks like 6 cards a pack so I adjusted the weight of a box up a little bit)

5.34kg - 11.77 pounds. Plus packing materials, probably add half a kg or a pound. So I would say 6.0KG is a fair estimate of your shipping.

All EMS shipped packages from Japan are checked by European customs, no questions asked. Unless you got a middleman that do bogus declarations Amiami packages will flag up and you have to pay import fees. Those fees are European Union based, free import up to 22 euro and everything above that you’ll pay 25% of declared value.

Yes, I know  Thanks anyway ^^
Even with customs, it’s still cheaper for me

I guess that you have to analyze your options to buy a product and, depending on all the factors involved, decide which one best suits you.

In my case, I’m after a box of Best of XY and the only European option I see on Ebay lists it for 90euros. And on amiami I think it would be 60something in total, with shipping and customs

PS: but again, you have to be very careful with customs if you’re in the UE, as you say. Once I had to pay like 70 euros or so only in import fees :open_mouth: Beginners… :stuck_out_tongue:

The first 22 euro are ‘free’ the importfee is based on your countries highest tax value. I just winged the 25%. I know that’s the highest tax value in Europe (Greece, Denmark). For myself it’s 21% excl. the fees the postal service has on top of it.

But I know what you mean. I am still considering; should I buy an SM3+ box on Amiami and just pay the fees and end up with 70euro for a box, or go on eBay and find a pre-order seller in Germany or France that charges me 85 for it.
