I’m looking to buy Pikachu 020/M-P McDonald’s Promo when it comes out. I see on eBay there are already a bunch of listings for < $40
Does anyone know if it’s usually the best time to buy these cards in terms of price? Is preordering the best way?
If you preorder and the price is lower than release, seller will cancel. If it’s higher than release, they will fulfill your order. Never preorder

Don’t do it,I missed out on this product entirely thanks to them refunding me 10 and 14 days later respectively when it skyrocketed during pre-order

Besides what @rtas mentioned, these cards will be plenty available . The key is to have patience and not have fomo of the boat with these cards. Prices of these will settle down once the promo window is over and more cards are available on the secondary market for purchase.

Thanks - yeah I’m just having a bit of FOMO right now because I missed the Ditto promo drop and see the prices are pretty darn high on that Korean promo.
I understand feeling that way. For how much that Ditto promo card was distributed the prices are just too much for me. But not every card should follow the trend so my advice would be to wait atleast for a couple of weeks and pull the trigger with prices you are comfortable with. I strongly believe they should be available in plenty enough for prices to not go crazy…but no one can tell.

It sucked lol, really wanted that for the personal collection but I ain’t paying thousands lol.
Hate for you to miss out too.
I think what is safe is either waiting until release and watching whether it rises or crashes and then if it’s within your preferred price point going for it then.
