Hey guys, I just got a PSA return and my 1st edition Blastoise (that I thought was a 4-5) came back as a 2. I’m trying to see if this may be worth resubmitting or if having it as a 2 might actually be advantageous given its tiny pop. I’ve tried to take clear photos. There is quite a noticeable scratch and three creases. You can zoom on the images to see. Thank you!
At first glance, it doesn’t seem to deserve a 2. With that said, the two photos aren’t as thorough as would be needed to get a good public opinion. I’d upload more with different angles and lighting.
The back has 3 creases running through it. Seems about right. Maybe PSA 3 would be a fair evaluation.
I have a PSA blastoise with 1 corner bend thats visible from the back. Overall card has a solid front. PSA graded it a 4.
PSA grades anything that has a crease a maximum 6 grade.
A noticeable scratch and three creases hardly deserve a “4 or a 5”.
Does this sound like your card?
VG-EX 4
Very Good-Excellent
A PSA VG-EX 4 card’s corners may be slightly rounded. Surface wear is noticeable but modest. The card may have light scuffing or light scratches. Some original gloss will be retained. Borders may be slightly off-white. ***A light crease may be visible***. Centering must be 85/15 or better on the front and 90/10 or better on the back.
Nope! I guess I based on a few other 4s I had that looked much worse than this one I’ll hold onto this since it’s such a low pop and thanks to everyone who responded
The card appears to be in great condition but the creases kill the grade. In my opinion you should reslab it for “authenticity” and hold onto it for a chance at a signature down the road.
