Add tracking for anything you don't want to lose money on.

@zorloth Ya you get where I’m coming from. The reason I even bothered posting in this thread or mention these things is because I’ve had so many orders magically never come. Sure sometimes maybe the seller doesn’t send it. Other times it’s truly lost. Whatever the case may be.

It doesn’t matter to me if my order comes by plane, train, submarine, boat, or the mail lol. The thing is i simply want my order wether it’s tracked or not.

I’ve just had bad experiences with some untracked orders. None with tracked. Some of these issues ended up resulting in me paying more thru a different seller after getting refunded. Or a lack of availability etc. Sometimes that few weeks in limbo screws you as a collector if the card doesn’t show.

But that’s all I have to say on this topic. Take it easy guys and good luck with your collection goals :relaxed:

Lmao

It’s funny that mail fraud is a federal crime? Or that it’s a shitty/dishonest thing to do? Both of those are true.

25 dollars is a good amount in my opinion. Even if you lost 1/12 PWE orders you’d still be coming out ahead. I usually have about a 1/100 rate of INR on PWE.

9/10 customers would rather save 2.50 over having tracking(myself included)

This might be an unpopular opinion, but in my experience PWE is just as fast as first class with tracking generally. Most of feedback on my PWE orders “fast ship”, “super fast shipping” etc…

I had one buyer complain he never received the cards through my international mail. I believe he scammed me but have no proof

He threatened to make it public to the community, which I should have let him do. I told him the mail was at his risk but he still was threatening so I just refunded the $28. Lesson learned

There’s no such thing as “mail at his risk.” All mail sent on eBay, as a matter of policy, is at the seller’s risk. 95%+ of buyers are honest luckily. The other 1-5% are just the cost of doing business, in my view.

Out of curiosity, what was the average shipping time within the US (depends on from and to which State of course, but on average) before Covid? Because two weeks is nothing tbh… Before Covid I’ve waited two weeks on average on most packages within Europe; 2-4 weeks from the US and Japan; and 3-6 weeks from China and Australia. (And also 1-6 weeks for other countries outside of Europe; Canada is usually very fast to my place - i.e. 1-1.5 week). Now during Covid it’s more like 2-3 months outside of Europe (even had a PWE arrive from Australia almost four months after ordering), and 2-6 weeks from within Europe depending on the country. Even neighboring countries like Belgium (for which the center is around 110 km away from my place) take about 2-3 weeks to arrive at my place now, which is pretty ridiculous when you think about it. Only within my own country is still pretty fast.
Still, we’re in the middle of a pandemic. Post offices are understaffed, have the be more thoroughly checked and cleaned, and will be postponed on certain locations for a couple of weeks without moving (based on some tracking codes I’ve seen). Although it doesn’t surprise me some people aren’t patient enough to wait two weeks when they were used to 2-3 days before this pandemic, it does surprise me it’s even possible to open an Item not received case within two weeks regardless of where it comes from and goes to (even if it goes to a house in the same city you live in - theoretically, because if that would ever be the case I’ll just deliver it manually). They can get their money back through eBay/PayPal within 45 days, so why would you already insist on a refund after just 14 days have passed… Maybe I’m just inexperienced as a seller, but I personally would refuse to refund anyone anywhere unless at least a month has passed. Ok, within my own country, maybe I would refund slightly faster. But definitely not during this pandemic times where postage is as irregular as can be.

Dude im obviously kidding, people like you is way i hardly come on here, too boomer on here

Sometimes it hard to sense a joke through the screen, there’s a lot of scumbags that would do exactly what you joked about which is why you received the respond you did.

I think a safe answer would be like 3 to 4 days letter mail tops and 2 to 3 days for tracked packages depending on what they were.

Well surprisingly, the fastest shipping has been from Japan but i’ve had to pay 16+ shipping for some orders, but they take 3-4 days to arrive.

Didn’t expect this to get much traction honestly.

@quuador, typically regular mail takes less than a week to reach people pre-Covid. On average I’ve had customers receive paper white envelopes within 3 to 5 days. Tracking would be guaranteed within 2 to 4 days pretty much though with some outliers.

Tracking still seems to be a solid choice and gets there faster too from what I’m observing. Regular mail just doesn’t cut it anymore.

ebay is very… surprising…
To add to the amazement (not sure if anyone else caught onto this yet as well) ebay is updating there policy soon when it comes to cases like this which i thought was pretty ridiculous given the current timing(pandemic).

Usually the 8 days response time before ebay stepped in and auto-refunded would be a good amount of extra time for a late package to arrive, 3 days during a pandemic is apparently the way forward though :face_with_spiral_eyes:
