Most of us are looking forward to New Pokemon Snap, especially those that grew up playing the original. And while the original was already great, the camera movement using the N64 controller was a bit wonky at times. Now imagine if in the new game we could hold the joycon like an actual camera and use motion control for movement! It would be a whole new level of immersion. I don’t know if such a feature has been confirmed, but I don’t see why it shouldn’t be possible.
Skyward Sword was designed with motion controls as a selling point, and it’s one of the lowest selling mainline Zelda games to date. They’ve even added in a normal control scheme for the coming Switch release. I mention this because I have my doubts Nintendo would back-pedal and make motion controls a selling point of a game again.
Though, if it were an optional control scheme, well, that might just be alright.
@trainerdlyellow, motion controls for a game like Skyward Sword are a bold move, to say the least. But for a rail shooter (assuming it will be one) that tries to emulate a camera, it seems logical
I only play my switch in docked mode, and let me tell you that playing Super Mario Galaxy with the forced motion control on the pro controller feels awful. If they limit it to handheld mode only, then sure I can see it being a neat gimmick.
Not about Pokémon snap, but I have a weird feeling Pokémon pinball we be back soon…
Knowing Nintendo, I have a strong feeling that would go with some camera controller you attach the JoyCon to (some branded plastic).
