A little bit of positivity

I thought I’d start this thread with some good vibes and give us somewhere to smile.

You can post anything like a picture of your pets, somewhere you’ve visited, maybe a view from your house or something that’s just brightened up your day recently.

It’s been a bit wild around these parts lately and so getting away from all the noise of prices and everything else can be much needed. It’s nice to touch grass and appreciate the little things :pikajoy:

I’ll start with a recent day out at the beach with the squad, burning energy before we all went to the pub for food.

Also similar threads already of pets for an extra boost

Here is a photo someone in my family found of my late grandpa and his twin sister. I had never seen a photo of him when he was young, so really happy it turned up.

I was at the cinema this evening and watched a movie called Drapet på Benjamin (The murder of Benjamin.) It’s about a case that happened in January 2001 in a place very close to where I grew up and within a stone’s throw distance of several of my friends. It’s a dramatization showing the last months of Benjamin’s life with his friends, the troubled life of the main perpetrator, the struggle of his mother and the subsequent trial. I was expecting the movie to be perfectly mediocre.

NOT THIS TIME! It was a superb movie. A stunning performance by the actress who plays his mother, the handsome devil who plays Benjamin also did a good job. Period-correct shopping bags, cars, subway signs, subway coaches and attitude towards smoking. As someone with a close relationship to all the places and times portrayed that hit me right in the chest. The movie had a subtlety to it that somehow suited the big screen especially well. A highly recommended watch if it ever receives english subtitles.

This was the sunset (with no filter…although I think the forum is compressing the picture a bit because it’s more vibrant on my phone) in San Clemente, CA about a week ago. It was so stunning anyone walking or driving by all stopped to just stop and observe for about 10-15 minutes until the sun fully set.

We live in a really beautiful world :sunrise:

This is a 2-ton Tesla speeding across a frozen lake, a lake that’s hardly ever seen a vehicle of any kind, on a particularly warm February day in the middle of a not particularly cold winter. The woman needed an adrenaline rush and she got one!

Touched grass last weekend with some friends at Rocky Mountain National Park. Was a chance to remember the world is so much bigger than our little bubbles and daily worries. Was awesome seeing the elk during elk rut season!

Though I will admit I was thinking about my collection quite a bit during our downtimes… #guilty

Well, my positive thing has no pictures attached. But After months of SAYING I would, I finally organized and hosted my first (of hopefully many) weekly movie nights for my friends. Since its October, we watched “The Thing” and it went really well! I’ve always wanted to watch that movie so it was exciting.

I had the pleasure of catching up with the handsome devil that is OP again this evening. He even donated some of the crappier cards from his collection cos he felt bad for me:

I even skipped home with a signed Blaine!(photograph for authentication purposes)

I was in Japan last week and took a day trip to Kawagoe (“Little Edo”) outside of Tokyo, so here are some photos from that day! There were lots of historic warehouses along Kurazukuri Street turned into a shopping district; nice gardens and plants; some cool manhole covers; and I tried lots of great snacks along the way.

Looks like a good laugh.

Let me know if you guys are ever knocking about in South Yorkshire :slightly_smiling_face:

Japanese manhole covers make my area’s buildings look like crap in comparison. This is absurd.

I walked 25 kilometers today. Dodged all the rain, lower back is still in one piece. Had a very good dinner.
