(74,450) How many cards did we (E4) send out in 2020?

The second tier companies like CGC are trying to fill a need. They are being quite innovative on card selection. I’d give them a shot if they did away with that godawful label design, but only with cards I wouldn’t sell. At least not yet.
If there was no PSA I’d be very tempted to go with SGC.

Charlie from Ludkins sent in 30,000.

That’s more than everyone in this thread combined lol.

About 500. Still waiting on my May submission back but as long as prices continue to go up I’m really in no hurry for those back.

I mentioned a few months ago that in my May submission are a few SM210 Moltres, Zapdos and Articuno cards which I only submitted at the time to get a cheaper rate with Ludkins (to reach their 50 card tier) - the cost of grading the card vs. the price of the raw card would have roughly broken even with the value of those in PSA 10 at the time (~$30). I would have happily sold those for $30 as well had I got them back straight away, but in PSA 10 they’re now $400 (lol).

It’s been 264 days since I sent that submission in and assuming they achieve PSA 10 grades and I’m able to sell them for around $400 I’m happy knowing that those have appreciated in value by $1.40 each day I’ve been waiting (minus whatever upcharge they’ll add to them now, of course).

There’s always a silver lining.

I did actually put through my first CGC submission last week, but those aren’t cards I’m planning on selling (2 cards which PSA do not grade and 2 others which I already have PSA 10 copies of).

In 2020 I’ve send:

  • 11 cards in February to PSA (got them back in August)
  • 1 card to PCA in December (I expect it in a few months)
  • 0 cards to BGS nor CGC in 2020

I’ll be sending 2 cards to PSA soon, though. Just got word back from PSA that they do grade the Korean Ancient Mew ©2020 version, so I’ll be sending both my copies in hoping for a 10 to complete my sixtet of Ancient Mew PSA-10 versions.

PS: the PSA employee also mentions they now grade non-English/non-Japanese cards from after the DP era, so I might send in a random Thai card or the French 25 stamped Pikachu that was leaked in English Vivid Voltage packs just for fun. Not sure if anyone was aware of this? It honestly surprised me tbh.

Wait, so you´re saying that I could send in german set cards post dp? Or is that only limited to promos?

According to the PSA employee I spoke that would indeed be the case. For Thai/Indonesian/Russian cards and such she said it would be best to ask first before sending in, but she said any French card after the DP era is fine to send in, so I’m assuming the same can be said for German/Italian/Spanish/Portuguese.

Here our conversation:

We do! We are accepting Pokemon in languages beyond Japanese and English from the Diamond and Pearl Era and up, just as an FYI, but here is the card you are looking for.

I hope this helps!

Hi,

Thank you for the response, that’s great to hear!
In that case I’ll send some in soon. I have the other five Ancient Mew versions in PSA-10, so I hope to complete the Ancient Mew PSA-10 sixtet in the future.

Oh, and I didn’t knew PSA grades non-English/non-Japanese cards after the DP era. That’s very interesting. So I could for example send in a French BW card, or Russian XY card, or Indonesian Sun & Moon card?
Out of curiosity: why aren’t the previous eras of cards being graded for non-English/non-Japanese cards in that case? I always thought PSA only graded the non-English/non-Japanese Base Set, and special releases from Japan or English-speaking countries (like the Pikachu World Collections, or French Gotta Magazine Pikachu).

Greetings,
Kevin

We have just decided to accept other languages because reliable sources for languages other than Japanese and English have become available. I would check beforehand to make sure we have the information for say the Indonesian or Russian, but I know that customers have been requesting that we grade other languages.
The problem has been that there might have been great info for the Italian of x set, but not the Spanish, and the French of Y set, but not the Korean. So, rather than making it exceedingly complicated for both customers and PSA to figure out, we decided to make it very clear, and not accept any of them.

So, good news all around, right?
I hope this helps.

The “So, rather than making it exceedingly complicated for both customers and PSA to figure out, we decided to make it very clear, and not accept any of them.” refers to my second question about grading cards from the WotC era up to and including the DP era. The “We have just decided to accept other languages because reliable sources for languages other than Japanese and English have become available. I would check beforehand to make sure we have the information for say the Indonesian or Russian, but I know that customers have been requesting that we grade other languages.” refers to grading other languages after the DP era.

But it might be best to ask through their Customer Research Request, a feature they recently added and also directed me towards for my question about the Korean ©2020 Ancient Mew, about your German cards just to make sure. I’ve only heard it from a single employee now.

That destroys my record lol.

0 - Yet to send a single card to PSA.

More of an ungraded collector for the time being. No doubt will get them graded when I want to sell them in ~50 years+ time. For the time being a soft sleeve and toploader is doing the job.

prob about ~1200+

700, spread over 11 submissions

32 for me, across May and June

This is actually brilliant. Someone who knows someone needs to propose this.

Also, thank you all to have posted so far, really only sheds the tiniest bit of light as to the mass amount that’s sitting there right now. Just. Sitting. Kind of unbelievable when you think about it.

I disagree. PSA, or any grading company, needs to be able to immediately pull the next card in the stack as soon as they’re ready to grade it. Like for example lets say PSA emails you saying that your position in the queue is almost to the front, so go ahead and send them in… oops well you’re on vacation and don’t have email or the means to send your cards out for a week. After you get back, you send the cards out, and the mail is delayed due to x reason (pick one there’s a million, let’s say inclimate weather). Ok well now it’s been in the mail for 3 weeks because it got delivered to the wrong sorting facility and had to be rerouted. So now you have single handedly created an additional month waiting time for the next person in line and everyone behind them. It would just lead to literally exponential wait time growths

I sent out 17.

I have sent 112

Don’t we have those already? Worth a shot. I’d take an additional month waiting time over an undetermined amount of time (but I get what you’re saying). I think it could be expanded upon.

40 in December

So to this point, roughly 55,750 from e4four alone (including the already said 30k by Charlie) - incredible.
