You seem to either be creating a shit ton of threads lately or just in all the recent ones i read past couple days. Pokemon collecting is not that serious, its just for fun. And your 70 10 whatever rule is terrible idea how can you be in finance or accounting and even think like that lmao

Hey, sure he needs working on his addiction like other people said. And I agree that this won’t be solved by any 10% budget rule, but I don’t think is terrible or that’s doing any damage. There is no need to be this harsh and disrespectful.

I think a hobby forum is the wrong place to discuss personal finances, even with good intentions.

You are missing Modern, the cornerstone of Pokemon collecting
100% getting lost in the sauce. I was doing this because I really wanted some cards that i thought would be impossible for me to afford without miracle money. It just becomes gambling and wishful thinking at that point though. Not worth my happiness and enjoyment of the hobby!

True. The category might be different, but this is necessary.
It’s important to do whatever works for you, and to TRACK the results and your adherence to that budget. The breakdown is minutie, but ultimately , if it gives a good model for practice, then it’s good for you. MOST people don’t budget anything, they just try to shave everywhere. So you’re already leagues above them.
Now, I also prefer to budget and track my time, but THAT’s another discussion, I’ve not budgeted time for.
I’m sure it’s been said here already, but there is no one-size-fits-all rule. It’s important to have a practical and productive plan to reach your goals.
