4xxx certs - the answer

I was about to post this in the other thread. But for the benefit of everyone I have come up with the answer to this issue. If a pricing disparity between certs starts to exist and truly “grade deserving” cards with non-4xxxx certs start to sell at a discount, the market will equalize. Why? Because the many collectors who are adept at arbitrage and scouring ebay will start to scoop up those “non-4xxxx” cert cards at a discount. Then people will realize that people are buying what are actually the exact same cards at a discount. When pictures of the same card, different cert appear on the forum and one person paid X% less versus the other it will produce a large amount of what I like to call “butthurt feelings”. And this large wave of butthurt feelings will cause the whole cycle to wash itself out.

So, the equation to remember is this. 4xxxx cert = butthurt feelings. Butthurt feelings = market equilibrium. Market equilibrium = none of this matters at all. Therefore 4xxxx cert = none of this matters at all.

With some simple algebra, I have solved the great problem of our age. This wave will wash through.
