In celebration of 30 years of Pokémon, The Pokémon Company International today revealed a commemorative expansion for the bestselling Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG), 30th Celebration , available at participating retailers around the world beginning Sept. 16, 2026.
Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration marks the first-ever Pokémon TCG expansion to debut with a simultaneously coordinated global launch in participating markets, followed by additional product releases throughout the year. Furthermore, the upcoming expansion will feature all foil cards and the return of fan-favorite classic cards.
In 30th Celebration , fans can look forward to discovering an all-new card rarity, Futuristic rare, which will feature vibrant new visuals illustrated by the renowned Japanese artist YOSHIROTTEN. Each Futuristic rare card will depict Pokémon in striking artwork evocative of hope toward an unknown future.
Every 30th Celebration booster pack will also include one of 30 unique foil cards featuring Pikachu, each illustrated by a different artist. Additional new cards in 30th Celebration will depict an array of Pokémon during different moments throughout daytime and nighttime.
In addition, fans can discover 30 classic Pokémon cards from across the game’s decades-long history that are making a return in 30th Celebration . Each of these classic cards will feature a stunning foil treatment.
The Drifloon is very nice and currently my favourite from what has been showcased. Also, because the stamp just blends very well with the artwork of the card and just looks like part of the fair and not like a separate stamp.
Also, that FUR Mew card is shining in a way that it looks like it has a pacifier in its mouth.
Thanks for this thread and showcase as always @koala . Appreciate all the updates.
I love that Lycanroc art, but man, that big yellow stamp… Maybe I can get someone to paint over it for me if I get the card. Wish the stamp was about a third of the size and just, like, a foil outline of the logo (like the ‘Pokémon: The First Movie’ stamps on those promos) so it wasn’t so obnoxious.
If you go to https://30th.pokemon-card.com/ and watch the little intro video, it shows 30 cards, including all of the ones that were already explicitly confirmed in the livestream. Someone on a discord server I’m in took the time to compile all 30 of them into one image for easy viewing. So, these are assumed to be the 30 reprints we’re getting:
(Can I spoiler tag this image somehow? Sorry, idk my way around the forum’s functions very well.)
Commented on E4 Discord already, but I’m surprised they are reprinting the Magikarp AR.
I wonder if the original’s value will tank given that texture would go hard. It does have the Pikachu stamp to detract from the artwork though.
And given that it’s not playable in any way, TPC seems to be acknowledging the insane market price on it. Have no idea why else it would be chosen of all cards.
I haven’t played standard in 8 years, so I don’t know whether it will be any good or not, but I like the concept behind the attack of the new Sylveon ex card. As a Sylveon fan, I hope it’s competitive!
I’m less hyped about this than I expected. I really planned to buy a few boxes and rip them, but there’s not much I want. This might be another scenario where I just buy a few singles of the reprints. I was really hoping they would have done something better for 30 years…
I find it interesting that the conversation before celebrations was ‘will this card tank due to a stamp reprint’ and the conversation this time is ‘these cards will go up a ton because of the stamp reprint’ (maybe not on e4 but on other platforms)
Maybe the Mew and Mewtwo will look better in person, but as of right now they just look aggressively ugly, especially with all the energy symbols everywhere.
The reprint choices don’t feel as strong or interesting compared to the 25th Celebrations Classic reprints either.
If memory serves (and it may not), Neo Genesis Cleffa dropped in price from a peak of like $10-12 for LP-MP condition before the 2021 reprint, because many of the people buying played Cleffas were buying to play them, and the reprint was much cheaper. Now, 5 years later, it looks like LP copies are still around $8-10 on TCGplayer, although the Near Mint price from TCGplayer Direct is $35.
Graded copies probably weren’t affected at all, if I had to guess, but I don’t know for sure.
It was never gonna happen, but I was hoping for full art versions of classic cards. Sort of a reimagining of them after 30 years. So base set charizard but full art for example.
