So I made a thread about my submission to Troll and Toad and how I wasn’t sure why it was cancelled and what I can do about it. After contacting the post office and also T&T I found out it was delivered, marked as damaged, and sent back to me. Yesterday I saw my package on the counter…
…and it was fucking empty. The box had been wrapped up in a bunch of duct tape to help secure it, but either broke or was opened and all 3000 of my cards I was selling we’re gone. As we’re the containers they were in. The package was re-wrapped in clear packing tape indicating someone tried to seal it back up.
Thankfully they were bulk commons and uncommons from new sets so nothing of value, but still. 3000 damn cards.
What do I do next? If I have to just eat the loss then so be it but I am absolutely gobsmacked. In a kind and desperate move my partner went out and bought me a bunch of tag team boosters as consolation, as all I could do was nervous laugh and shake my head.
Unless you had insurance you’re out of luck. Make the post office aware just in case there is an employee tampering with packages. Sorry this happened!

At least you know how good of a catch you have. Make him put a ring on it and call it a week
Priority mail “Includes up to $50 of insurance with most shipments (restrictions apply)”. Source I’ve had luck pursuing them in the past for the cost I paid for shipment on top of that when they failed to properly and safely ship items. I know $50 won’t cover the cost of 3,000 bulk even if it was just commons and uncommons but it is better than nothing.
A caveat is that my experiences in getting reimbursement were all with respect to well packed items that broke due to USPS’ mishandling. “Well packed” is of note here and if they claim bad packaging to be the reason it failed then your coverage will be voided I’m pretty sure. From the sounds of the other thread it may have been a case of poor packaging that led to this though so I am not sure what luck you will have. I think some of my success and ease with claims is due to my familiar face at the post office and my volume of business and overall very low number of issues.
