hi guys,
i purchase a charizard 25th japanese for 200 euro a year ago
today i realise this zard is worth 120 euro
i didnt see a reprint of 25th anniversary , why the price drop so much ?
thanks in advance for your wisdom guys
I am not sure if there is something specific related to this particular card, but prices in general for all Japanese cards have dropped across the board, specially compared to those from a year to year and half ago.
Cheers!
Sometimes cards go up, sometimes cards go down. The important thing is that we need cards to live. Without cards, we will die.
Yeah this a problem for all modern set cards whose price relies on speculation rather than fundamentals. You’ll find these cards are much more at risk of price volatility. The attention span of the average cardboard (I mean cardstock, sorry pfm) investor is also a lot shorter than previous years, especially as the quality of modern releases has risen dramatically since Sword & Shield, so eyes and wallets drift much more quickly to other cards and products.
“Cardstock market”
“Cardstock investor”
The puns write themselves
If the supply doesn’t change but the price goes down, that means demand has gone down. It’s been 3 years since the 25th anniversary. The relevancy of the set and the Charizord have slowly retreated from the minds of collectors. As others pointed out, the intense level of demand for modern Japanese cards has also waned. Time to put the card back in the closet and check again in 2 years
