With us being at 17 million cert, and with more than a dozen million cards left in the backlog, eventually we’ll reach the 20 millions for PSA certification numbers.
For many years the issue of 2 cert vs “new cert” has caused deep divide among PSA 10 enthusiasts. But what happens when 20x cert hits the market? Will our fellow collectors be able to tell the difference between a reholdered 2x cert vs a fresh 20x cert? Will the same leading digit and our low intelligence lead to the end of the old vs new cert debate?
Similarly to how Mayans predicted the world to end in 2012, as we approach the fabled 20 cert mark I predict that once the backlog clears, a great market shift and change of sentiment towards 2 certs will occur.
Lol we’re not at 17 million cert, we’re at 170 million cert. Counting digits already doesn’t seem to work. I know it’s the conventional & easy way we describe cert numbers but it has always rubbed me the wrong way.
yeah I remember that haha why the cert chasing is pointless! all certs have strong versions of a card! buy the card not the cert or we will be for ever chasing the new cert
1m+ certs are the only place you’ll find true vintage 10s. Mint cards did not exist before 2025. The cards that are currently coming out of booster boxes (that have been banged around for 20 years) are uniquely higher quality
