1st ed base set pack factory cut?

Hey guys I have seen this before and have always steered clear because I thought it might have been messed with but I was told its actually factory…is this true? they can come with a slit like this from factory??

Yes It’s ok. Small tears like that sometimes happen opposite of the rear seam around the area where the three pack regions are joined. I would recommend paying a lot less for the pack however, since much of the fully “sealed” pack value is lost. Maybe $300-400 less.

I passed on that one for the same reason. And the same concern you have with the pack is going to be a problem for anyone else in the future you may want to sell it to.

really? that small slit up there? if it doesn’t damage the cards, it seems a big price penalty - 300 to 400 lower?

If this is the pack I’m thinking about, it’s quite a bit bigger and more noticeable in other photos.

Personally what would you value it at?

Based on the photo what would you say a good price for it would be?

If it is otherwise in mint condition, no folds or creases, then $1000 is fair. In ungraded mint condition without the tear it is worth $1300 to $1400. If you were the one who bought it you did ok

Current wotc MTG packs still come out the box with those slits, it’s nothing to worry about

I opened an unlimited base box which had these, some worst than others

I had an open box laying around, as soon as I opened the lid two packs on the very first row have the slits, guaranteed untampered packs/box
