1996 P/C Green Venusaur PSA 10. Thoughts?

Hey everyone, this is my first post to this forum. I have picked up this P/C card in Japan. This is a “Green 1996 Venusaur 4 of diamonds” graded 10. It also has a matching green Venusaur on the back, which I assume would also give it some additional value. I have searched the market and couldn’t find this exact version of this card, so I am lost on its value. This is a competely different question, but if you would have the same card on hand, how long would you hold onto it before selling? Thanks!!

Cool artwork. I wouldn’t be selling.
And not for the purpose of “investing”.

If this does not fit my collection and I had this in a PSA 10, now is the best time to sell. PSA 10 valuations are pretty much at peak and I would not waste time thinking. If this was something that I was interested in collecting, I would still sell and downgrade and use the additional funds to get something else. Any card in a PSA 10 now seems to be like a mini lottery in that card division.

Cheers!

Thanks for the tips, I’ll definitely note them down. Though I’m not arguing, just for clarification, I was wondering why this card is considered a bad investment piece. Don’t old Pokémon cards generally become scarcer over time? Is it because this isn’t a normal TCG card, or because the current Pokémon spike might just be temporary?

is it because its not a TCG?

It’s a poker card my dude.

It’s up to you to decide if you think it’s a good investment or not. To me this is a card with a Pokémon on it as opposed to a Pokémon card, so it’s not something I’d ever be interesting in owning.

This type of card is quite niche and has a small buyer pool. If this isn’t a core piece of your collection I’d sell it while everything is hyped and use the funds to purchase something you want more.
